What is typosquatting?

Typosquatting registers domains matching common misspellings of legitimate brands. When users make typing errors (gogle.com, amazn.com, payapl.com), they reach attacker-controlled sites instead of intended destinations.

Email application: attackers send from typosquatted domains, hoping recipients don't notice the misspelling. Messages from "support@amaz0n.com" may appear legitimate to inattentive readers.

Defense includes: registering common misspellings of your brand defensively, monitoring for typosquatted registrations, and user training to verify domain names. Some registrars offer brand monitoring services.
