What’s the impact of “blocked” vs “bounced”?

A block occurs when the domain or IP fails a policy check such as authentication failure or content based filtering. The message is rejected for policy reasons rather than because of an invalid address.

A bounce occurs when the address itself cannot receive the message.

Blocks reveal sender reputation issues. Bounces reveal data quality issues.
