Why do some ESPs show “delivered” when the email hit spam?
Delivery only measures whether the mailbox provider accepted the message. It does not track whether the message was placed in the inbox or the spam folder. Once accepted, the ESP cannot see internal mailbox placement.
This is why inbox placement tests exist as separate diagnostics.
