What is Yahoo's Complaint Feedback Loop (CFL)?

Yahoo's Complaint Feedback Loop (CFL) notifies senders when Yahoo Mail users mark their messages as spam. This feedback enables responsible senders to maintain list hygiene and monitor their reputation.

When a recipient clicks "Spam" on your message, Yahoo generates a report in ARF (Abuse Reporting Format) and sends it to the address you registered for the FBL.

To participate, you must sign up through Yahoo's postmaster site and verify control of your sending domain. You must also sign your messages with DKIM so Yahoo can identify your mail.

FBL data should trigger immediate unsubscription of complainers. Continuing to send to users who reported you as spam compounds the reputation damage.

Yahoo's CFL covers both Yahoo Mail and AOL Mail addresses since the properties share infrastructure.

The feedback loop is the harbor reporting complaints about your ship. Use the intelligence to improve rather than ignoring the warnings.
