Is reverse DNS optional for bulk senders?
Myth: Reverse DNS is an advanced configuration that bulk senders can skip.
Reality: PTR records are table stakes for bulk sending.
Receiver behavior:
Many check PTR before accepting mail
Missing PTR = immediate rejection or heavy penalty
Generic PTR = strong spam indicator
What is required:
PTR record exists for sending IP
Meaningful hostname (not IP-based or generic)
FCrDNS passes (forward and reverse match)
No exceptions:
Bulk senders especially scrutinized
Cannot compensate with good content or engagement
Infrastructure requirement, not optional enhancement
Ship registration is mandatory for commercial vessels. No proper papers, no entry to commercial ports.
