Can TXT records be added in any order?

Myth: TXT records must be added in a specific order to work correctly.

Reality: DNS has no concept of TXT record ordering.

What is true:

Multiple TXT records for different purposes coexist fine (SPF + Google verification + Facebook verification)

Order of creation does not matter

Order returned by DNS queries is not guaranteed

What causes problems:

Multiple SPF records (not order, just having more than one)

Multiple DMARC records at same name

Conflicting records, not ordering

Add records in any order. Ensure you have exactly one SPF and one DMARC.

Documents can be filed in any sequence. Having duplicate documents of the same type causes rejection.
