How do subdomain policies (sp=) work?

If you do not set an sp tag all subdomains inherit the main p policy. The sp tag allows you to assign a separate policy for subdomains. For example p equals reject sp equals none enforces rejection on the main domain while placing all subdomains into monitoring. This is useful for complex organizations or delegated subdomain use.
