What is SRS (Sender Rewriting Scheme)?
SRS solves the SPF forwarding problem by rewriting the Return Path to use the forwarder’s domain so that SPF will validate when that forwarder sends the message. The scheme also encodes the original sender’s Return Path inside the rewritten address. If the message bounces the forwarder receives the bounce decodes the address and can route the bounce back to the original sender.
