How to test accessibility before sending?
Accessibility testing should be part of your QA process-not a final checkbox but integrated throughout development. Combine automated tools with manual testing for comprehensive coverage.
Testing process: Automated checks-Litmus/Email on Acid accessibility audits, color contrast tools, HTML validators. Screen reader testing-listen to your email in VoiceOver or NVDA. Keyboard navigation-can you access all links without a mouse? Zoom testing-does it work at 200% zoom? Images-off testing-does alt text convey the message? Readability check-is copy clear and scannable?
Build accessibility into your workflow, not onto it. When accessibility is a last-minute afterthought, it gets skipped under deadline pressure. When it's part of template design and content review, it becomes automatic. Train your team, establish checklists, and make accessible email the baseline expectation.
