What is a sending domain?

The sending domain is the domain shown in the visible From header. It is the identity that recipients see and trust. It is the flag flown proudly from the mast as your ship enters each harbor.

Technically this is the Header From domain. DMARC alignment checks require that this domain align with the domains used in DKIM and SPF, making it the authoritative identity signal for mailbox providers.
