How has mobile changed how people read email?
Mobile changed email first through BlackBerry at the end of the 1990s which made push email a normal part of business life. Later smartphones such as the iPhone and Android devices made email an always on channel for everyone.
Today most email opens happen on mobile which means messages must load fast be readable on small screens and survive weaker connections.
It is like moving from reading charts in a captain's cabin to checking quick notes while standing on deck.
