What happens when ARC chains break?

If any seal is invalid, missing, or out of order the chain becomes untrustworthy. Receivers often mark the chain as cv=fail and may ignore ARC entirely, falling back to normal SPF DKIM and DMARC evaluation.

It is like discovering a falsified or tampered entry in a ship’s logbook and refusing to trust any of the entries that follow.
