What is spear phishing?

Spear phishing is a targeted form of phishing where the attacker customizes the message for a specific recipient, often using personal details or business context.

These attacks can mimic executives, financial staff, or system administrators.

A more extreme form is whaling, also known as Business Email Compromise, which targets high level executives and has caused companies billions in fraudulent transfers.

It is an enemy vessel disguised specifically to fool one ship in the fleet. This form of attack is extremely dangerous because it is crafted to bypass generic filters.
