What authentication is required (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)?
Authentication requirements under the 2024 guidelines mandate valid SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for bulk senders. SPF must authorize your sending IPs. DKIM must sign messages with proper domain alignment. DMARC must be published at minimum p=none policy.
Alignment is critical: either SPF or DKIM must align with your From header domain for DMARC to pass. Misaligned authentication where checks pass but domains do not match fails DMARC requirements.
These authentication standards prevent domain spoofing and establish sender identity. Without proper authentication, bulk senders face increasing rejection rates and filtering. The requirements make authentication mandatory rather than optional for anyone sending at scale.
